The speed at which audiovisual technology advances for events is vertiginous, and LED screens are no exception. Today, these are evolving into the known LED walls or Video walls, authentic “buildings” composed of multiple LED modules, LED cabinets, or LED panels are ideal for both outdoors and indoors among other countless advantages.
Here are the key technical aspects to keep in mind if you are considering including an LED wall in the technical production of your next event in Spain, along with real cases of Novelty Spain that will serve as inspiration.

The LED Wall is a trend in large-scale corporate events, where LED screens have ceased to be just another audiovisual element to become, many times, the absolute protagonists.
This revolution in the way of creating events has been very well received by the audience, increasingly guided by striking visual stimulation.
LED Walls are assembled by assembling several LED modules, which together define the shape, size and resolution of the LED display. These LED modules are composed of the following elements:
When integrating LED Walls in the audiovisual technical production of your event, it is essential to take into account certain technical aspects to ensure the desired visual experience. Here are the main ones:
Pixel Pitch is the distance between the individual pixels of an LED module. The lower the pixel pitch, the sharper and higher resolution the image will be.
Tip: It is crucial to select the pixel pitch according to the distance from the audience. For events where the audience is close to the screen, a pixel pitch of 1-2 mm is ideal, while for larger distances you can opt for 4-6 mm or more.
Resolution is directly related to screen size and pixel pitch, and refers to the number of pixels that can be displayed in each dimension. It is generally expressed in width × height, with the units in pixels (e.g. 1920x1152 pixels, equivalent to a 2.6 pitch LED wall with the physical size of 5x3m).
Tip: It is vital to design the audiovisual content specifically for the resolution of the LED Wall, as low resolution images and videos can look pixelated or blurry on large screens.
The brightness of an LED display is measured in nits: an outdoor LED Wall generally requires more brightness, or a higher number of nits, while for indoor use a display with less brightness may be sufficient.
Tip: Contrast also plays an important role in image quality, especially in event spaces where lighting conditions are variable.
The refresh rate of an LED display is the frequency with which the display is refreshed per second, measured in Hertz (Hz). A high refresh rate (ideally 3,840 Hz or more).
Tip: RR is crucial to avoid flickering, especially in recordings or live broadcasts.
The viewing angle is the maximum angle from which the display can be viewed without significant degradation of image quality.
Tip: It is essential to choose LED panels with a wide viewing angle (ideally 160° horizontally and vertically) to ensure an optimal viewing experience for all attendees.
LED Wall configuration software, such as Novastar or Smart LED Manager Pro, allows you to calibrate and manage various aspects such as brightness, color and define how all the cabinets are connected to each other.
Tip: It is important that the software is compatible with the receiving cards of the LED cabinets. Not all cabinets are compatible with all processors, so it is essential to use hardware of the same brand to avoid compatibility problems.
Latency is the delay between the input of a video signal and its display on the screen.
Tip: At events, it is crucial to minimize latency to ensure that the image is perfectly synchronized with the audio and video signals in real time.
At major events, redundancy systems, such as dual power supplies and alternate signal paths, are essential to ensure that the LED Wall remains operational at all times.
Large-scale events such as MWC 2024 and KubeCon + CloudNativeCon Europe 2024 are examples where LED Walls have become a central element of the scenography, integrating seamlessly with the decoration, audiovisual content and even with the performance of the speakers.
The MWC 2024 LED Wall measured 200m² and consisted of 862 LED cabinets of 50x50cm and a resolution of 42,467,328 pixels.
The impressive LED wall at KubeCon + CloudNativeCon Europe 2024 measured 216m².
